If the original idea doesn't work well players will search for a better option. And what dev's thought their class would be is not necessarily the best one. Some skills are better than the other, which leads to some builds being better than the other. If it wasn't like that we could've seen plenty of ranged berzerker builds.Ĭlass playstyle is tailored around skills. The only serious difference is that berz and engi have 25% damage reduction, while e-mage and lander don't. If this is indeed what devs wanted to make then they'd failed miserably.Īt the very least HP and mana is the same, and other stat difference is ignoreable. OK, now I wanted to write a long comment. but it still give a space for adaptation with player's self preference. so, its own class stat ( HP, mana, dex, focus, vit and skill tree ) made them better welding this weapon instead of that. Originally posted by cuma.elp:anyway, the dev made a clear differentiation between each class and it should be. Some guy#3: As an engineer you would want melee physical twohanders. Some guy#2: weeeeell, I think it's shield + 1hand. Some guy#1: what would be the best weapon for engi? This is how the whole thread looks to me, with engineer as example: It's not my fault that it's easier to play Outlander as a focus-based poison caster than as an archer or gunslinger. Not mentioning the glaive outlander build and optimal weapon for that is unfair, because it's the most common and simplest build, by far, similar to which prismatic bolt builds are to embermage. It's not about which class does something better. if you're focusing on casting instead of shooting, embermage would be the better choice for that. for +%poison, outlander already have Poison Burst skill ( I spend a lot skill point on this ). embermage initial stat are better to use wand instead outlander. What's the point to wield a pistol or a shotgonne if you do glaivespam? Wand, on the other hand, will have quite a bit more damage, because you pump focus as glaivelander and max master of elements but that's secondary, the prime reason is that wands can have +%poison and +%cast speed. Exotic, but not really strong.ĭodge mastery is a signature passive of outlander, just like Master of Elements and Share the Wealth, while Poison burst is questionable and Shadowling ammo is the one that is virtually useless. That way you can use weapon-locked abilities like rapid fire, venomous hail, chaos burst and shadow shot with a wand as a damage base (meaning Master of Elements will be useful). Shooty lander with Rapid Fire and shotgonne is fairly good build. And autoattacks are suboptimal because they are prone to fumble, while skills, even %wdps ones, don't.

To reap benefits of dual weapons you have to execute, and execute only works on autoattacks. I don't see neither dual pistols nor dual wands as a preferred style. Well, I actually meant wand + shield, not dual wands.
